Teen driver arrested for dangerous BMW stunts in Zagreb; car impounded

An 18-year-old driver's joyride in Zagreb ended with his arrest and a hefty potential fine after he was caught performing dangerous stunts in a BMW. The incident occurred on June 18th when the young driver spun his car in circles on a grassy area in Ulica Ćire Truhelke, creating significant noise, smoke, and dust.

Citizens alerted the police and provided video evidence of the reckless driving. Responding officers investigated and determined that the driver had indeed engaged in dangerous maneuvers, exceeding engine limits and causing the vehicle's tires to spin excessively. This behavior not only disturbed the peace but also caused unease and fear among residents and passersby.

Following his arrest on June 26th, the driver was brought before the Municipal Misdemeanor Court in Zagreb. Authorities also sent the BMW for an emergency technical inspection, which revealed several critical issues. The car was subsequently removed from traffic due to corrosion, oil leaks from the engine, worn tires, and damaged lighting systems.

Prosecutors have requested a fine of 4,000 euros for the driver. The incident highlights the consequences of dangerous driving and the importance of citizen reporting in maintaining public safety.
