Teenage Motorcyclist Dies in Head-On Collision After Riding Against Traffic

Tragedy struck on the Jalan Kuantan-Kemaman yesterday when a 15-year-old student, Muhammad Salman Muhammad Ridwan, lost his life in a devastating motorcycle collision. The incident occurred around 2 PM near the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) Cherating. Initial police investigations suggest the young rider was traveling against the flow of traffic on his Honda C100 motorcycle, leading to a head-on collision with a Honda Dash 125 coming from the opposite direction. Despite being rushed to Kemaman Hospital, Muhammad Salman was pronounced dead due to severe injuries. The 43-year-old female rider of the other motorcycle suffered a fractured right leg and is currently receiving medical care. Authorities are treating this as a case of negligence, with the victim's actions cited as the primary cause of the accident. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, highlighting the serious consequences of reckless driving on our roads.

When the incident occurred, the rider of the Honda Dash 125 motorcycle was traveling from Kuantan towards Kemaman before colliding with the victim's motorcycle which was coming from the opposite direction against the flow of traffic.
