Teenager Kicks YouBike in Anger Over Insufficient Funds; Company Files Lawsuit

A video circulating on social media shows a teenager in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, violently kicking a YouBike rental station and bicycle. The youth allegedly resorted to vandalism after being unable to unlock a bike, reportedly due to an insufficient card balance. The footage, which quickly went viral, drew widespread condemnation from netizens criticizing the teenager's lack of public decency.

Authorities responded promptly after receiving a report on August 15. Police reviewed surveillance footage and confirmed the damage to the public bicycle, though the exact cost of repairs is still being assessed by the rental company. The company, "Smiling Bike," has formally filed a complaint for property damage.
