Teenager remanded over fatal crash killing four family members and brother

A 19-year-old man has been remanded for seven days in connection with a fatal road accident that claimed the lives of four family members and his own brother. The incident occurred on Jalan Renggam-Simpang Renggam in Kluang.

The suspect, who was driving a Mercedes-Benz, was initially detained for three days for investigation under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Following the expiration of that remand period, he was released on police bail before being re-arrested and brought before the Kluang Sessions Court. The new seven-day remand order was issued by Judge Mujib Saroji to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which pertains to murder.

The victims of the crash were identified as Mohd. Aiman Mohd. Rashid, 36; Nor Azlina Abd. Latif, 33; Semek Mat Soh, 75; and Nur Airish Syifa Sidek, 10. The suspect's brother, Goh Yi Sheng, 22, also died while en route to the hospital due to severe injuries sustained in the accident.
