Teenagers lead Vejle to cup upset over Silkeborg

Vejle has sent the first Superliga team, Silkeborg, packing from this season's cup tournament. The second-round match saw the relegated side secure a decisive 3-0 victory over a disappointing Silkeborg.

The tone was set early, with Vejle taking the lead in just the eighth minute. A quick free-kick on their own half caught Silkeborg off guard. Nineteen-year-old Bismark Edjeodji capitalized on the space, launching a breakaway and skillfully chipping the ball over the onrushing Silkeborg goalkeeper, Aske Andrésen.

Silkeborg's struggles continued as another 19-year-old, Abdoulaye Camara, doubled Vejle's advantage with 17 minutes remaining. Camara was played through on the right side during a swift counter-attack and confidently slotted the ball home for the 2-0 lead.

The final blow came from Gustav Marcussen, who sealed the match with an impressive solo run, culminating in a powerful shot into the top corner of the net. This victory continues Vejle's strong start to the season, as the team currently leads the first division after five rounds.
