Teenagers lost in Almaty mountains rescued

Three teenagers, one as young as 16, became lost while hiking in the mountains near Almaty, prompting a rescue operation by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The incident occurred during an ascent when one of the teenagers, born in 2008, lost the trail and was unable to continue. Rescuers quickly located the group and safely guided them back to the Alma-Arasan eco-post. Fortunately, none of the teenagers required medical attention following the ordeal.

Following the rescue, the Ministry of Emergency Situations issued a reminder to the public about mountain safety. They stressed the importance of thorough preparation before any hiking trip. Hikers are advised to meticulously plan their routes, consider current weather conditions, and accurately estimate the time needed to complete their journey before dusk. Essential items such as a fully charged mobile phone and a flashlight should always be carried. Additionally, informing relatives or friends about their hiking plans is crucial for ensuring timely assistance if needed.
