Tel Aviv teacher to be indicted, suspected of raping 12-year-old student

A mathematics teacher in Tel Aviv is reportedly facing indictment on charges of raping a 12-year-old student, according to a source speaking to Walla news.

Mohammad Al Nakib, 27, of Lod, had his detention extended by six days by the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court. The State Attorney’s Office is preparing an indictment, with a prosecutor assigned to oversee the case. Police investigations suggest the alleged assault may not have been an isolated incident. Investigators believe Al Nakib met the student outside of school on multiple occasions, picking her up in his car and spending time with her at Tel Aviv beaches. Investigators reportedly confronted him with incriminating messages found on his phone.

During interrogation, Al Nakib allegedly became emotional and made statements that implicated him in the suspected offenses. Authorities are actively investigating whether the case extends to other students. New details have also emerged regarding Al Nakib's professional background. Education staff reportedly spoke with students who had him as a teacher after learning he previously worked at another Tel Aviv school. His teaching internship there was terminated before completion due to dissatisfaction with his performance, yet he was hired last year at the middle school where the alleged offenses occurred.

The Tel Aviv North police station is continuing its investigation, gathering evidence before transferring the case to the State Attorney’s Office. Police are appealing for any potential victims or witnesses to come forward with information that could broaden the investigation and help identify any additional harmed students.
