Teletón 2026 aims to surpass 426 million pesos as celebrities and influencers join fundraiser

Teletón will hold its 29th national fundraising campaign on October 10 under the slogan “That’s why I love you, Teletón,” seeking to exceed last year’s target by one peso.

The foundation is aiming to raise more than 426,978,716 pesos and recruit more than 1,000 recurring donors who contribute at least 11 pesos a day. Fernando Landeros Verdugo, president of Fundación Teletón, said the campaign’s goals were equally important. He described the organization as nearly 30 years old but still expanding rather than slowing down.

If the fundraising target is reached, Teletón plans to build a Children’s Rehabilitation and Inclusion Center, known as a CRIT, in Minatitlán, Veracruz. The center is intended to operate for more than 20 years. The foundation said its network has served 931,204 people since the initiative began, through 25 CRIT facilities, a children’s oncology hospital and an autism center.

The goal for Teletón this year, because we are going to keep moving forward, is a double goal: one peso more than 426,978,716 pesos. And for the first time, we will place a goal for sponsors at the same level of importance. The goal is to surpass 1,000 sponsors, meaning recurring donors, not one-time donors.

Landeros Verdugo said Teletón had faced criticism, difficulties and very hard moments, but that the work had been worthwhile. He said the organization was approaching one million people served and was days away from opening its 29th Teletón center, in Colima.

Teletón representatives said more than 13,000 children have received services, 539 patients are currently being treated and the program has achieved an 86% survival rate. The Teletón Autism Center serves 7,735 children across the country’s 28 centers. The organization also says its private pediatric rehabilitation system provides care to 39,000 children through all its CRIT centers, using technology intended to improve mobility, self-care and independence.
