Tennis instructor linked to trial for alleged sexual abuse of teen in San Luis Potosí

A tennis instructor in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, faces trial for allegedly sexually abusing a 13-year-old student. A judge ordered the instructor, identified as Ricardo Emmanuel "N," to proceed with the criminal case after prosecutors presented sufficient evidence.

The investigation, led by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Women, Families, and Sexual Crimes, suggests the instructor abused the trust placed in him by the victim, who was his student. The alleged acts occurred in various locations within the state capital.

Following the initial hearing, the judge ruled to link Emmanuel "N" to the process and imposed justified preventive detention as a precautionary measure. He will remain in custody while the judicial proceedings continue. The court has allocated three months for the closure of the complementary investigation, during which the Public Ministry can gather further evidence.

The State Attorney General's Office reaffirmed its commitment to investigating cases of violence against women, girls, and adolescents, emphasizing its dedication to pursuing justice in accordance with the law and in favor of victims.
