Tentoglou Breaks Own Record at Piraeus Street Long Jump

Miltos Tentoglou dominated the Piraeus Street Long Jump, held in front of the Piraeus Municipal Theatre, with an impressive throw of 8.39 meters. This performance shattered his own 2023 event record of 8.24 meters and confirmed his excellent current form.

The Olympic champion acknowledged the unique challenges of a street competition. "It's the best performance I've had in a street event," Tentoglou stated. He explained that adapting to the conditions, which differ significantly from a classic stadium, took time. "I struggled at the beginning, like the other athletes. It was evident in the women's competition too that adaptation is needed because it's not a classic stadium. I also made some mistakes in the landing that didn't satisfy me," he shared.

Despite the difficulties, Tentoglou expressed high satisfaction with the event's level and the athletes' performances. "It was an excellent competition with a very high level. He is now preparing for upcoming events, including the Diamond League in Monaco, the Gyulai István Memorial in Budapest, and the Panhellenic Championship in Volos, before heading to the European Championships in Birmingham.
