Terengganu Sweeps Men's XCO Cycling at SUKMA 2026

The Terengganu mountain bike team dominated the men's cross country Olympic (XCO) event at the 2026 Malaysia Games (SUKMA), sweeping all available medals. The competition took place at Lembah Peladang Agro Park in Bandar Saujana Utama, Sungai Buloh.

Muhammad Naufal Iman Mohamad Fauzi led the charge for Terengganu, clinching the gold medal. He completed the challenging course in 1 hour, 7 minutes, and 28.064 seconds. His teammate, Saniy Syu’Aib Mohd Safiee, secured the silver medal, finishing with a time of 1:07:41.520s. The bronze medal was awarded to another Terengganu rider, Muhammad Effan Wafiy Nor Effandy, who crossed the finish line at 1:10:12.232s. A total of 36 cyclists competed in the men's race.

In the women's XCO competition, Kedah also performed strongly. Nurul Nabilah Mohd Asri won the gold medal for Kedah, clocking a time of 1:16:40s. Zahra Afifah Zamri secured the silver medal for her performance, finishing just seconds behind at 1:16:48s. The bronze medal went to Qisya Batrisyia Othman, an athlete representing the host state, who completed the race in 1:18:34s.
