The cheapest automatic cars in Argentina in September 2026

The JMEV Easy 3 remains the cheapest automatic car in Argentina, widening its lead in a September ranking shaped by price movements and a shrinking vehicle market.

The Chinese-made urban hatchback is fully electric, uses a 68-horsepower motor and has a declared range of up to 330 kilometers. The Hyundai HB20 Hatchback held second place after keeping its price unchanged. Its Brazilian-imported Comfort Plus version combines a 123-horsepower, 1.6-liter gasoline engine with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The gasoline MG 3 stayed in third place. It uses a 114-horsepower, 1.5-liter engine with a continuously variable transmission and is distinct from the hybrid version also sold in Argentina. The JAC S2 made one of the month's biggest moves, rising from sixth to fourth. The compact SUV has a 105-horsepower, 1.5-liter gasoline engine paired with a CVT.

The Toyota Yaris climbed to fifth after keeping its price almost unchanged, while the Citroën C3 moved down to sixth after becoming more expensive. As in the ranking of the 10 cheapest new cars in September, none of the most affordable automatic models is produced domestically.

The ranking appeared as Argentina's auto market contracted. Dealers registered 44,415 vehicles in August, 19.1% fewer than in the same month of 2025 and 1.5% below July. From January through August, registrations totaled 385,091 units, down 13.3% year on year from 444,256. Automakers generally kept dollar-denominated list prices stable, although their peso equivalents rose with the exchange rate. Models priced in pesos increased by an average of 1.7%.
