The Dragon Ball Super remake confirms its premiere with a look at its improved animation

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus has confirmed its October 11 premiere with a new trailer showcasing improved animation for some of the franchise’s most criticized material. The project will revisit the anime’s opening sagas, beginning with the battle between Goku and Beerus, the God of Destruction.

That confrontation originally appeared in the 2013 film Battle of Gods and later formed the first story arc of the Dragon Ball Super anime, which aired from 2015 to 2018. The remake will also restore the storyline centered on Frieza’s return, first presented in the second arc and in the 2015 film Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’. Both arcs faced strong criticism over their animation quality, making the new version a notable attempt to improve their presentation.

The trailer also revealed the music accompanying the project. MEGATERA・ZERO will perform the opening theme, “ONOGAMI”, while VK Blanka will sing the ending theme, “Kan Peki No Peki”. Toei Animation is continuing to expand the long-running franchise after the death of Akira Toriyama, the beloved manga creator.

At the same time, the studio is developing a sequel known as Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol. The story will take place after the Tournament of Power between universes and will bring Goku and Vegeta into an uneasy alliance with the Galactic Patrol, the galaxy’s peacekeepers. Together, they will confront Moro, a powerful sorcerer and dangerous criminal who threatened to eradicate every form of life.
