The engineering challenge of building across Chacao Strait, the bridge set to transform Chiloé

The Chacao Bridge is being built to link Chile’s Chiloé Island with the mainland, connecting it specifically to the commune of Calbuco in the Los Lagos region.

The project is not only notable for its scale. Once completed, it will be Latin America’s longest suspension bridge, according to the description of the work.
