Huawei has launched the MatePad Air, a new tablet designed to offer a "smarter future of productivity" by integrating AI-powered features with PC-level performance. Aimed at users who work and create on the go, the device emphasizes seamless adaptation to fast-paced digital lifestyles.

A key highlight is the AI-enhanced WPS Office suite. This includes an AI writing tool for generating topics and outlines, an AI sheet assistant for managing data through natural language commands, and an AI presentation tool that can create slides from documents. For lengthy PDFs, an AI summarization feature helps extract key points and map frameworks for efficient reading. The tablet also supports real-time collaboration through WPS multi-device sync.

Note-taking is also enhanced with Huawei's Notes app, which now features a speech-to-text function. This allows users to effortlessly convert recorded speech into text, capturing lecture or meeting discussions and automatically generating structured notes. These transcribed notes can be synchronized with handwritten annotations for easier review and context addition.

For more demanding tasks, the MatePad Air can be paired with the Smart Magnetic Keyboard. Weighing 308 grams, the keyboard offers stain resistance and durability, with 1.5 mm key travel for comfortable typing. It provides fast, stable connections and low latency, supporting numerous shortcut combinations for a desktop-like experience.

The tablet features a 12-inch OLED PaperMatte Display with a 2.8K resolution and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. This display aims to provide a comfortable viewing and writing experience, mimicking the feel of paper. It also supports an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 30 Hz to 144 Hz, enhancing both productivity and entertainment.
