Hooded eyelids can make some lines, shadows and shimmer disappear when the eyes open, but they do not require giving up on creative makeup. The key is to change how products are applied and use the visible space strategically.

The goal is not to alter the eye shape, but to work with it. Maybelline recommends small adjustments that can create a more lifted visual effect while keeping the result natural. Start with a light layer of primer or concealer to even the lid and create a smooth base.

For depth, place a medium-intensity shade toward the outer corner and blend it slightly upward. Keep highlights focused rather than covering the entire lid with shimmer. L’Oréal Paris recommends concentrating light at the inner corner, while Maybelline suggests keeping eyeliner close to the upper lashes or using tightlining to add definition without taking up too much visible space.
