The Guairá Medical Association is asking Governor César Sosa to mediate with Paraguay’s national government after accusing Health Minister María Teresa Barán of failing to represent medical professionals.

Ever Giménez, president of the Guairá Medical Association, said the union turned to Sosa after meeting with him because his position as president of the Council of Governors could give him direct access to President Santiago Peña and national officials involved in the negotiations. The doctors want him to present their demands to the president, the health minister and the economy minister.
