Islamists have been engaged in an asymmetric war against the free West for many years, yet Germany continues to ignore this reality, the article argues. The recent attack on Berlin's Christopher Street Day was not a random act; both the target and the methods employed were carefully selected, suggesting a deliberate Islamist motivation.

The author criticizes segments of the political left for their reluctance to acknowledge the Islamist nature of such attacks. While some, like Baden-Württemberg's Minister-President Cem Özdemir, have clearly identified the motivation, others, particularly from the Left Party and the Greens, have offered vague statements. The article points to Green politician Katrin Göring-Eckardt's statement "Our hate will not get you!" and the Social Democratic queer representative of Berlin, Alfonso Pantisano, who controversially equated Islamists with the right and conservatives.

This denial is seen as baffling, especially ten years after Islamist terror became an irreversible part of European life. The article highlights that Islamist regimes and groups, unlike German conservatives, exhibit a specific and murderous hostility towards homosexuals. Whether it's Hamas or the Iranian regime, or terrorists using firearms or knives, Islamists frequently express their hatred for homosexuals, viewing them as symbols of Western decadence.

The methods used by the alleged attacker, Abdul B. – a minivan and a knife – are also noted as reminiscent of past tactics. In the early 2010s, Hamas in the West Bank encouraged attacks using cars and knives, a wave of terror dubbed the "Knife Intifada," after security measures made larger bombings more difficult. Vehicles and knives have since become common tools in such attacks.
