'Therian' disrupts youth 'aura farming' event in La Plata, Argentina

An unusual incident unfolded at a youth gathering in La Plata, Argentina, where participants were engaged in a trend known as 'farming aura.' The event, held in Plaza Moreno, saw a person identifying as a 'therian' – someone who perceives themselves as an animal – unexpectedly join the crowd.

The therian's presence initially seemed like part of the performance, but as it became clear they were not a participant in the 'aura farming' activity, attendees reacted. The individual, described as having a beard resembling animal features, was physically escorted out of the area and had to leave amidst the spectators.

Despite the disruption, the organizers of the amateur event, communicating via social media, declared the gathering a success. They noted that the therian's appearance, while strange, only managed to capture a few seconds of recording on attendees' phones, which were primarily focused on capturing the 'aura' of the main participants.

The 'farming aura' trend itself is described as a new and extravagant movement among adolescents and young adults. The event involved participants performing for 90-second intervals in front of a 'jury,' with others filming the proceedings. The therian's intervention added an unexpected, albeit brief, element of spectacle to the afternoon.
