Thessaloniki: Ship to Sporades departs at full capacity, two hours late due to weather

The exodus of Thessalonians for the last weekend of July began despite heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions. A ship destined for the Sporades islands departed Thessaloniki on Saturday morning with full capacity, albeit two hours behind its scheduled departure time due to the inclement weather.

Skopelos emerged as the most sought-after destination among travelers, with Skiathos and Alonissos also drawing significant demand. Despite a sudden shift in weather patterns and the Sporades islands remaining on high alert, holidaymakers remained committed to their travel plans.

Simultaneously, considerable traffic was noted at the Malgara toll booths and along the Thessaloniki-Moudania National Road, indicating a widespread departure from the city.
