During the recent national festival, the restaurant Tangan in Vestmannaeyjar served a select portion of its offerings, providing visitors with "just a fraction of the best." Hafdís Kristjánsdóttir, the manager, reported a successful weekend, particularly on the final sunny Sunday. "Incredibly well. I am so happy," she stated, noting that "when the weather is great, it just doesn't fail."

Among the most sought-after dishes were the restaurant's burgers, alongside a popular soup and salad buffet. The pan-fried puffin also drew significant attention. Kristjánsdóttir described the puffin as "always a real treat, melts under the tongue."

However, the menu at Tangan was notably smaller during the festival compared to other times of the year. "We have a much larger menu on all the other days. So they just get a taste of the best," Kristjánsdóttir explained. This curated selection aimed to provide a highlight of the restaurant's culinary offerings.

Kristjánsdóttir expressed her hope that festival-goers would be enticed to return to Vestmannaeyjar to explore more of what the island and Tangan have to offer.
