Thief Removed from London-Bacău Flight After Stealing Duty-Free Sunglasses

A flight from London Luton Airport to Bacău, Romania, experienced a delay shortly before takeoff when a passenger was identified as a shoplifter.

Airport police apprehended the man after reviewing surveillance footage that captured him stealing designer sunglasses from a duty-free store. The incident highlights a peculiar financial calculation: the stolen sunglasses were valued at £350, slightly more than the £320 cost of his ticket to Bacău.

"Transport to another airport - expensive; Last-minute booking fees for another flight - even more expensive. Some decisions cost much more than you would expect," the police commented on their Facebook page, emphasizing the consequences of the man's actions.

The passenger was removed from the aircraft and compelled to pay for the stolen merchandise before being escorted off the airport grounds.
