Thieves steal $100,000 from Argentine official's home during town anniversary event

Jorge Alberto Perino, the communal president of Susana, Argentina, discovered his home had been ransacked while he was presiding over the town's 145th-anniversary celebration. The theft, which occurred between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. on a Tuesday, saw approximately $100,000 USD and 12 million Argentine pesos stolen.

The discovery was made by his daughter, who returned home to retrieve a forgotten phone and found the house in disarray. She believes the thieves may have escaped through a side door as she entered.
