Thieves steal car keys, then empty apartment in Mar del Plata

A brazen theft in Mar del Plata saw criminals escalate from stealing items from a vehicle to emptying an apartment, all by using keys found inside the car. The perpetrators gained access to the owner's apartment without forcing entry, managing to steal a significant amount of valuables in a short time.

Security cameras from the apartment building recorded three individuals, their faces visible, entering the premises. Further footage from the victim's home also captured the suspects. These recordings are now the primary lead for investigators working to identify the culprits, who may be linked to a similar robbery in the Chauvin neighborhood.

In at least one of the incidents, the thieves reportedly used a signal jammer to disable the vehicle's alarm. Once they obtained the keys and information about the owner's residence, they proceeded to burglarize the home. In this particular case, the victim had parked his car and gone to dinner, only to return and find the glove compartment open and his house keys missing.

The building's monitoring system allowed investigators to reconstruct the events, showing the three suspects entering the apartment and leaving with bags of stolen belongings. The investigation is in its early stages, but the clear images of the suspects provide a strong basis for identification. Another recent incident involved a 28-year-old victim who returned home to find money, electronics, and clothing missing, with the thieves again accessing the apartment without force.
