This 1947 Dodge Power Wagon will represent Mexico at the Hot Wheels Legends Tour

A 1947 Dodge Power Wagon with the mechanical heart of a modern Ram 1500 TRX will carry Mexico’s hopes into the Latin American stage of the 2026 Hot Wheels Legends Tour.

Built by Zaky Garage, the winning truck took first place at the national final held on Sept. 5. It emerged from a field that included unconventional projects such as a Honda Civic converted into a pickup and a modified Rolls-Royce.

The truck keeps the appearance of a pickup from nearly eight decades ago, but its foundation is far newer. Zaky Garage used a 2023 Ram 1500 TRX as the mechanical base, then modified the structure and handcrafted or adapted panels to achieve the proportions of the 1947 body.

The project also retains the TRX’s supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8, which produces 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Wilwood brakes with six-piston calipers were added to handle the vehicle’s performance and weight. Despite looking like a showpiece, the Power Wagon has already covered about 8,000 kilometers.

Judges Jorge Ortiz, Emiliano de la Torre, known as Emicánico, and Kenji Nakamura, known as Kenjikuun, assessed the entries on authenticity, creativity and “Garage Spirit,” a criterion focused on the construction work, adaptation and ingenuity behind each vehicle. Zaky Garage’s Power Wagon now advances to the regional competition.
