Three alleged Los Viagras members sentenced to up to 10 years in prison over weapons charges

Three alleged members of Los Viagras, a criminal group allied with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel in Michoacán, received prison sentences of up to 10 years for weapons offenses.

A federal judge convicted the three men during an abbreviated proceeding after federal prosecutors presented evidence in the case. Ángel “N” received a sentence of 10 years and eight months, José “N” was sentenced to nine years and four months, and Alexander “N” received five years and four months.

The Federal Attorney General’s Office said the three men remain held at the Lic. David Franco Rodríguez Social Reintegration Center in Charo, Michoacán.

Authorities detained them in March 2025 while soldiers, National Guard officers and municipal police from Parácuaro conducted patrols on a road linking San Antonio la Labor with the Cuatro Caminos-Apatzingán highway in the Tierra Caliente region. Officials said they seized four rifles, one pistol, 17 magazines, 2,141 rounds of ammunition, three vehicles and three tactical vests. The ammunition and weapons, authorities said, are reserved for the armed forces.
