Three Arrested for ATM Jamming Scam in Pamulang

Authorities in Pamulang, South Tangerang, have arrested three suspects involved in a sophisticated ATM skimming scheme that targeted morning bank customers. The arrests followed a series of public complaints reporting missing funds after transactions at an ATM located at the Buah Hati Hospital.

According to Kapolsek Pamulang AKP Galuh Febri Saputra, the modus operandi typically occurred between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. The criminal trio operated with distinct roles: one individual would tamper with the ATM's card slot, another would approach customers feigning assistance with their transactions, while a third kept watch outside the booth.

Police apprehended the suspects on Thursday morning as they allegedly prepared to execute their scheme on another customer. The suspects attempted to resist arrest and flee, prompting law enforcement to use "firm and measured" force to subdue them. During the confrontation, a security guard from Buah Hati Hospital, who was assisting the police, sustained injuries from a ricocheting bullet.

The injured security guard has received medical attention. Police are investigating whether the suspects were armed with sharp weapons during their operations. The three individuals, identified by the initials AN, RA, and MH, are currently undergoing further examination at the Pamulang Police Station. Authorities are exploring potential links between these suspects and other reported ATM jamming incidents in the Pamulang area.
