Three arrested for "logistical arm" after theft of 400 cell phones in Ciudad del Este

Paraguayan authorities have made significant progress in dismantling a criminal network responsible for a major cell phone heist, arresting three individuals allegedly involved in the logistical operations of the gang. The operation, which targeted approximately 400 high-end cell phones in Ciudad del Este, saw the apprehension of Edgar Segovia Castillo, Alfredo Rubén Cabrera González, and Reinaldo Daniel Fernández González, the latter known as "Krosty" and with a prior record for fraud, receiving stolen goods, and aggravated robbery.

The arrested group is part of the logistical machinery. They did not participate directly in the theft of 400 high-end cell phones, but they provided the means.

According to investigators, the arrested men did not directly participate in the theft itself but played a crucial role in providing vehicles and support for the execution and transportation of the stolen merchandise. During the raids, three vehicles, including a Toyota Noah van, were seized, along with seven cell phones and Brazilian license plates. The van, reportedly originating from "Krosty's" residence, is believed to have been used in the crime, based on closed-circuit television footage.

We have already identified five people as the alleged direct perpetrators of the robbery, who are part of a criminal structure dedicated to this type of act.
