Three Arrested for Operating Illegal 'Mobile Casino' in Mexico City; Threats and Drugs Involved

Authorities in Iztapalapa, Mexico City, have arrested three men suspected of running an illegal "mobile casino" that allegedly threatened participants to extract undue payments. The arrests followed investigations and monitoring of surveillance cameras, which led officers to a tent set up in the parking lot of a supermarket on Ermita Iztapalapa avenue.

During the operation, police observed individuals engaged in gambling activities with purported prizes. Investigations suggest that some participants were intimidated into making improper payments. When law enforcement officers entered the parking lot, several individuals attempted to flee, but three men, aged 32, 37, and 39, were apprehended.

During a preventive search, officers seized various items, including two cell phones, 15 dice game boards, nine gambling cards, and three payment terminals. Additionally, 21 small bags containing a substance suspected to be cocaine, 18 blue packets of the same substance, and 21 transparent bags with apparent marijuana were confiscated. The three detainees were informed of their rights and handed over to the Public Ministry for further investigation and legal proceedings. The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) stated it would continue intelligence and surveillance efforts to combat illicit activities in Mexico City.
