Three Arrested in Niš for Drug and Weapons Trafficking

Police in Niš, Serbia, have arrested three local men suspected of involvement in drug trafficking and illegal weapons possession. The arrests followed searches that uncovered significant quantities of narcotics and firearms.

During the search of one suspect's apartment, B.Ž. (51), officers found 522 grams of cocaine, 244 grams of marijuana, a precise scale, and approximately 47,000 Serbian dinars and 1,450 euros, believed to be proceeds from drug sales. Three cars and three motorcycles were also seized.

Another suspect, M.J. (38), was found with about 1.1 kilograms of marijuana, a revolver, three pistols, and an automatic rifle with two magazines, along with 227 rounds of ammunition. The third individual, M.I. (22), was arrested when he purchased 5.7 grams of marijuana from B.Ž.

All three suspects have been detained for up to 48 hours and will be brought before the higher public prosecutor's office in Niš with criminal charges.
