Three children killed in fatal traffic accident in Ton district

A devastating traffic accident in Kyrgyzstan's Ton district claimed the lives of three young children on July 19. The collision occurred around 1:50 PM between the villages of Kara-Talaa and Shor-Bulak on the Balykchy-Bokonbaev-Karakol highway.

According to preliminary investigations, a Hyundai Palisade and a Chevrolet traveling towards Karakol entered the oncoming lane, leading to a collision with a Honda Stream, a Chevrolet Spark, and a Volkswagen Vento. The victims were identified as a 16-year-old, a four-year-old, and a two-month-old infant, all from the same family. Several other individuals sustained injuries in the multi-vehicle crash.

The suspected perpetrator of the fatal accident was driving at a speed of about 140 kilometers per hour.

Eyewitness accounts and initial findings suggest excessive speed may have been a factor. Blogger Ertay Iskakov reported that one of the vehicles involved was traveling at approximately 140 kilometers per hour. He shared a poignant video of a grieving father holding his deceased daughter, emphasizing the horrific impact of the crash. Following the tragedy, Iskakov urged authorities to implement harsher punishments for severe traffic offenses, advocating for the revocation of driver's licenses for significant speeding and crossing into the wrong lane.
