Three high school students rescued after entering swollen Ui Stream out of curiosity

Three high school students were safely rescued by police after they entered the swollen Ui Stream in Seoul out of curiosity during recent heavy rains. The incident occurred on the afternoon of August 14, when officers from the Beon-dong police substation spotted the youths entering the water via real-time CCTV monitoring.

According to the Gangbuk Police Station, officers were monitoring the stream's CCTV feeds due to heavy rainfall warnings. They observed the three male students entering the water in an area known for frequent flooding. The police immediately dispatched to the scene.

The students, who were submerged up to their waists in the fast-flowing water, were guided to safety by the responding officers. They were subsequently taken to the Beon-dong police station, where they were protected and then safely handed over to their guardians. The police determined the students had entered the stream out of curiosity after seeing how high the water had risen.
