Three killed in Belgorod region drone attacks, Russia says

At least three people died and several were injured in Ukrainian drone attacks in Russia's Belgorod region on Tuesday. Russian authorities also reported that a bus in the border city of Shebekino was struck, injuring 19 people.

According to local officials, the attacks claimed two lives in a border village where a business was hit. Another person died in an incident near the regional capital, Belgorod. All passengers except one were injured when the bus was hit in Shebekino; eighteen people with varying degrees of injury were taken to the hospital.

The Russian Foreign Ministry accused Ukraine of systematically attacking public transport in various Russian regions. Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that the latest attack demonstrates Ukraine's targeting of public transport with "manic persistence" and its retaliation against civilians for battlefield failures.

Russian authorities also reported that five people were injured in a supposed Ukrainian drone attack on a bus in the Russian-occupied part of the Donetsk region on Tuesday. Moscow had previously accused Ukraine of a June drone attack on a bus carrying Belarusian children on holiday, which resulted in one woman's death and injuries to six children. The Ukrainian military has denied these accusations as false.
