Three men arrested after violent clash in Næstved

Police in Næstved, Denmark, arrested three men late Tuesday evening on suspicion of aggravated assault following a violent clash between two groups. The incident occurred centrally in Næstved on Ramsherred, involving at least five individuals known to each other.

Vagtchef Nis Henriksen of the South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police stated that the two groups met for reasons yet to be fully determined, leading to a physical altercation. The prevailing hypothesis among investigators is that the dispute was financial in nature, though the precise details of the disagreement remain unclear.

The police received the initial report via the emergency number 112 at 7:42 PM. While the full scope of the involvement is still being investigated, Henriksen confirmed three arrests were made. He indicated that at least two individuals from the opposing group were present during the tumult.

The suspects are charged under Section 245 because we suspect that a sharp object was involved. Perhaps a knife.

Two of the arrested men are reportedly in their 40s, while the third is around 30 years old. They face charges under Section 245 of the Danish Penal Code, which pertains to aggravated assault. The investigation is considering the possibility that a sharp object, potentially a knife, was used during the altercation, with at least one person possibly sustaining a superficial wound. Several individuals involved received medical checks at the hospital for what appear to be minor injuries. A decision on whether to formally charge the three arrested men is pending.
