Three months after twin princes, Ooni welcomes daughter with Olori Oluwatosin

The House of Oduduwa is celebrating the arrival of a new royal princess. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, announced the birth of his daughter with Olori Oluwatosin on Sunday via his official social media channels. Both mother and newborn are reported to be in excellent health.

This joyous occasion comes less than three months after another of the Ooni's wives, Olori Mariam Ajibola, gave birth to twin princes in May. The new princess marks another significant addition to the royal family, expanding the lineage of the traditional ruler.

Olori Oluwatosin had maintained a low public profile prior to the announcement. While the Ooni publicly acknowledged her as a wife, details regarding their marriage ceremony have not been disclosed. Her name was not among the six women whose marriages to the monarch were publicly reported between September and October 2022, following his divorce from former queen Naomi Silekunola in December 2021.

In his announcement, the Ooni expressed profound gratitude to God for the "precious gift of new life." He extended congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and offered prayers for the princess's flourishing in wisdom, grace, and honor.
