Three rehab center employees arrested in Los Mochis; investigated for patient's homicide

Authorities in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, have arrested three employees from a rehabilitation center as part of an investigation into the death of a patient. The men, identified as Donato “N,” 25, Manuel “N,” 22, and Ivan “N,” 33, are suspected of homicide.

According to the investigation, the incident occurred on July 28 at the “Vuelvo a Vivir” (I Live Again) rehabilitation center. The three employees allegedly subdued a patient, identified as Efraín “N,” 41, who was later found deceased. Emergency services were called to the scene, where medical personnel confirmed the patient had no vital signs before notifying public security and the state prosecutor's office.

Personnel from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection of Ahome cordoned off the area where Efraín “N,” originally from San Blas in the municipality of El Fuerte, was found. The arrests were made based on probable responsibility for qualified homicide with advantage and asphyxiation. The investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the patient's death and the extent of the employees' involvement.
