Three women rescued, three men arrested in Juliaca human trafficking probe at bar

Authorities in Juliaca, Puno, have rescued three women, aged between 18 and 31, from a bar in an operation targeting suspected human trafficking. The intervention took place at an establishment located on Antonio de Zela street, near the Guillermo Briceño stadium.

During the operation, conducted in flagrante delicto, three men identified as Anderson Holguín Huanca, José Donis Vargas, and Alberto Lobatón were arrested. Preliminary reports suggest these individuals were in charge of the bar, which was reportedly operating behind closed doors.

According to initial information, the rescued women were allegedly compelled to work as "companion ladies." Their role involved encouraging patrons to purchase alcoholic beverages, from which they would receive a percentage of the sales. The case has been transferred to the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Human Trafficking Crimes in Puno for further investigation and determination of criminal responsibilities.
