Three-year-old walks eight blocks alone to visit grandma after mom says no

A three-year-old boy in Idaho embarked on an unexpected solo journey to his grandmother's house after his mother denied his request to visit. The child, believed by his mother to be inside the home, managed to open the back door and walk nearly half a mile, barefoot, to his grandmother's residence.

Security footage captured the boy's determined trek, showing him opening the back door and proceeding down the street. Another camera at the grandmother's house recorded his arrival, prompting her to ask, "Where is your mother?" The mother, Hannah Driscoll, was alerted when the grandmother called to inform her that the child was safe with her. Driscoll recounted feeling initial disbelief and overwhelming relief, followed by guilt as she processed the speed of the event.

Driscoll shared the incident, including the video footage, on TikTok, where it garnered over 2.6 million views. She captioned the post, "Next time you feel like a bad mom..." The mother acknowledged finding a humorous aspect to the episode now that her son was unharmed. However, her primary intention was to remind other parents of how quickly young children can move and to prompt them to assess their home security measures.
