Three Young Men Arrested in Slovenia for Phone Contract Scam and Robbery

Slovenian police have apprehended three young men from Bosnia and Herzegovina, aged 19, 20, and 21, in Maribor. They are suspected of committing six criminal offenses, including two counts of robbery, two counts of causing minor bodily harm, assault, and attempted extortion.

Authorities revealed that the trio created a fake female profile on an online application to communicate with their victims. Under the pretense of meeting a young woman, they arranged meetings in Maribor during July. Upon arrival, the suspects allegedly coerced the victims into signing contracts for high-end mobile phones in their own names.

In addition to the contract fraud, the suspects are accused of threatening the victims, stealing valuable items, and using physical force to inflict injuries. One of the arrested individuals had a prior record for similar offenses. Following house searches, police seized items deemed crucial for the ongoing investigation. Two of the three suspects have been remanded in custody.
