Thunderstorms and severe weather expected in Hessen

Hessen, Germany, faces a day of unsettled weather on Friday, with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected to bring heavy rain, hail, and strong gusts. The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of an increasing risk of thunderstorms starting in the morning and continuing throughout the day.

Temperatures will reach a high of 25 to 28 degrees Celsius, dropping to around 23 degrees in higher elevations. The storms are predicted to move southeastward overnight into Saturday.

Saturday is forecast to be significantly calmer, with mostly dry conditions under partly cloudy skies. However, isolated showers and brief thunderstorms remain possible in the mountainous regions. Highs will range from 22 to 27 degrees Celsius.

Sunday's forecast for Hessen indicates predominantly dry weather. While some areas in the northeast might experience isolated showers or thunderstorms under overcast skies, other regions will see a mix of clouds and sunshine. Temperatures are expected to range from 18 degrees Celsius in the highlands to up to 25 degrees in the Rhine-Main area.
