Ticketmaster Mexico Celebrates 35 Years with Cybersecurity and AI Enhancements

Ticketmaster Mexico marks 35 years of operation by bolstering its defenses against digital threats and embracing artificial intelligence. The ticketing giant, which manages sales for over 18,000 events annually and issues approximately 22 million tickets, with 80% now digital, has prioritized technological and cybersecurity improvements.

"There will always be actors who try to get the inventory; our responsibility is to protect the tickets and the fans," said Ana María Arroyo, director of Ticketmaster Mexico. The company has poured over $1 billion into technological innovation in the last decade. A key development is SafeTix, a system that replaced static barcodes with dynamic codes to thwart fraud and illegal resale. Over 31 million SafeTix tickets have been scanned since its implementation, supported by robust infrastructure and fraud detection tools.

"Our goal has always been to bring the fan closer to their artist. The evolution towards digital tickets and SafeTix responds precisely to the need to protect attendees from fraud and ensure they can enter the event," Arroyo added. Looking ahead, Ticketmaster is integrating AI to enhance event discovery through conversational assistants, personalized recommendations, and improved fraud detection using machine learning. The company aims to provide artists, promoters, and venues with better audience insights to strengthen their commercial strategies.
