Tickets Open for Indonesia's 81st Independence Day Ceremony at Presidential Palace

Indonesia is opening registration for citizens to attend the 81st Independence Day ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. The application period runs from August 5 to August 7, 2026, and interested individuals can register through the official "Pandang Istana" website (https://pandang.istanapresiden.go.id).

To streamline the process, applicants are advised to prepare necessary documents and personal data beforehand. This includes a valid ID (KTP/KIA), an active email address, a phone number, and a recent formal selfie holding their identification. The organizing committee has stated that the number of available slots is limited and registration will close once the quota is met.

Given the high demand and limited invitations, early preparation is crucial for a successful registration. Approximately 8,100 people are expected to attend the flag-hoisting ceremony, symbolizing the 81st anniversary of Indonesia's independence.

In addition to the official ceremony, the government is also organizing a public festival at the National Monument (Monas) on the same day. This festival will feature various attractions, including live performances, traditional 17th-of-August competitions, local micro, small, and medium enterprise (UMKM) booths, and the distribution of 500,000 free meal portions. A dedicated children's play area will also be available.
