TikToker Arrested in Hanoi for Defaming Two Hospitals

Hanoi police have arrested and detained TikToker Nguyễn Thiên Hương, known online as 'Hà My,' on charges of defamation against two hospitals in the Vietnamese capital. The arrest follows an investigation into numerous videos posted on her TikTok account that allegedly contained fabricated and slanderous content.

Authorities announced on June 18 that Hương, 44, residing in Hồng Hà ward, Hanoi, was charged under Article 331, Clause 2 of the 2015 Criminal Code. This article pertains to the abuse of democratic freedoms to infringe upon the legitimate interests of organizations and individuals.

Investigators have preliminarily determined that between July and November 2025, Hương utilized her TikTok account, @h.my3208, to upload nine videos. These videos reportedly contained false accusations and incited actions detrimental to the rights and interests of Xanh Pôn General Hospital and Phương Đông General Hospital.

The security investigation agency of the Hanoi Police Department is continuing its inquiry to process the case in accordance with legal regulations. The decisions and orders related to Hương's detention and search have been served and executed following approval from the People's Procuracy of the same level.
