Tilly Norwood, the first "actress" developed entirely with artificial intelligence, is making waves in the film and television world, attracting interest from various studios for roles in movies and series. Her debut film is slated for 2025, underscoring the growing role of AI in the entertainment sector.

This digital actress is the product of an ambitious project by British producer Particle6 Productions, collaborating with Xicoia, a studio specializing in virtual personalities. Eline van der Velden, Norwood's creator, explained that the goal was to craft a distinct identity, complete with history, aesthetics, and character, akin to human individuality. Norwood is powered by the DeepFame personality engine, enabling a realistic appearance and interactive social media presence characterized by a chaotic, fun, and glamorous style.

During the Zurich Summit, Van der Velden presented Norwood, noting the initial skepticism from talent agents quickly shifted to strong interest. "When we launched Tilly, people were like, 'What is that?', and now we are going to announce which agency will represent her in the coming months," she revealed.

Verena Puhm, director of Luma AI's new Studio Dream Lab LA, anticipates that 2024 will be pivotal for integrating AI into real productions, with significant collaborations with major studios expected by early 2026. The advent of AI-driven performers like Tilly Norwood marks a new era for cinema and television, blurring the lines between the real and the virtual in an increasingly competitive entertainment industry.
