Timeline of Lizeth Bunshi case reveals her last hours in Quito

Authorities in Ecuador are actively investigating the disappearance of 28-year-old Lizeth Esthela Bunshi Muñoz, who was last seen on the night of July 18, 2026. She was reportedly heading from El Tingo in the Los Chillos valley towards the center of Quito.

The investigation, led by the State Attorney General's Office and the National Directorate for Crimes Against Life, Violent Deaths, Disappearances, Extortion, and Kidnapping (Dinased), has focused search efforts along the Machángara River. Cristian Gonzalo V. L. has been formally charged with involuntary disappearance. He is currently held in preventive detention as the investigation proceeds.
