Tinubu, 18 Governors Rally for Oyebanji's Re-election in Ekiti

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu spearheaded a significant show of political force in Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria, rallying support for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji's bid for a second term. The All Progressives Congress (APC) mega rally saw Tinubu, accompanied by 18 state governors, former Ekiti Governor Ayodele Fayose, senators, and ministers, converge at the Ekitiparapo Pavilion. Thousands of party faithful attended, signaling strong backing for Oyebanji.

Speaking through Vice-President Kashim Shettima, President Tinubu lauded Oyebanji as a well-prepared leader committed to people-centered governance. He highlighted the governor's humility, inclusive style, and developmental achievements as reasons for his popularity and suitability for another term. "Governor Oyebanji understands the essence of leadership. He has carried everybody along, farmers, traders, students, traditional rulers and political leaders," Tinubu stated, emphasizing Oyebanji's focus on delivering democratic dividends.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani also praised Oyebanji's performance, particularly in education, workers' welfare, and infrastructure. Hope Uzodimma, Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, noted the broad acceptability and impressive performance reflected in the widespread support. APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda declared that Oyebanji's achievements were his strongest campaign asset. Governor Oyebanji himself expressed confidence in seeking re-election based on his record.
