Tinubu Fair in Road Project Distribution Across Nigeria, Assures Minister Umahi

Minister of Works David Umahi asserted that the current administration under President Bola Tinubu is demonstrating fairness in allocating federal road projects across Nigeria, ensuring equitable development for all states. During a meeting with Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji in Abuja, Umahi emphasized the inclusive strategy that benefits communities previously underserved by federal infrastructure initiatives.

Umahi recalled his own experience as governor of Ebonyi State, where significant federal road projects were scarce, and noted that Ekiti and other states faced similar situations before the Tinubu administration. He praised the President's "nationalistic and equitable approach" to project allocation, which he believes is changing the narrative and contributing to the ruling party's growing support due to visible achievements in road infrastructure.

The minister assured the Ekiti State Government that all existing federal road contracts in the state would be executed strictly in accordance with engineering standards and contractual specifications.

Addressing Governor Oyebanji, Umahi guaranteed that all federal road contracts in Ekiti would adhere strictly to engineering standards and contractual specifications. He confirmed that contractors were selected transparently according to the Public Procurement Act and pledged to keep the state government informed for effective project monitoring. The ministry remains committed to delivering durable, high-quality roads that enhance connectivity, stimulate economic activity, and support the "Renewed Hope Agenda."

Governor Oyebanji expressed gratitude for the "unprecedented federal road interventions" in Ekiti, particularly the approval for the reconstruction of the Ado-Iyin-Aramoko Road. He noted that contractors mobilized quickly after the appeal to the President through Umahi, showcasing the federal government's commitment to prompt delivery and strengthening public confidence in the administration's infrastructure development goals. Oyebanji also thanked the minister for approving the Ado-Ijan-Ikole Road project, a vital route for transportation and economic growth.
