Tinubu hails Shettima as a patriot and trusted ally on his 60th birthday

President Bola Tinubu has described Vice President Kashim Shettima as more than a political ally, calling him a patriot whose career reflects service, commitment and sacrifice.

In a statement issued ahead of Shettima’s 60th birthday, Tinubu congratulated the vice president’s wife, Nana, his children, family and political associates. He praised Shettima’s earlier career in banking and his service as governor of Borno State before becoming vice president.

“Kashim is not just a trusted ally or a valued colleague, but also a patriot whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice for worthy causes,” Tinubu said.

The president said Shettima had shown courage, diligence, compassion and a commitment to improving people’s lives in both his state and federal roles. He also commended Shettima’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress, his support for the administration and his dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Tinubu highlighted Shettima’s leadership of the National Economic Council, saying he had helped coordinate economic policy and foster cooperation between the Federal Government and subnational governments. He added that Shettima’s respect for constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation had strengthened good governance.

“His loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty have remained invaluable to the administration,” Tinubu said. He thanked Shettima for his partnership and prayed that Allah would grant him wisdom, good health and many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria.
