Tinubu instrumental to Kaduna infrastructure projects - Uba Sani

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has credited President Bola Tinubu with playing a pivotal role in the state's infrastructure development, especially concerning road projects. Sani made these remarks while flagging off 11 road projects in Zaria and Sabon Gari Local Government Areas.

President Bola Tinubu has played a significant role in the execution of road projects and infrastructure development across the state.

Governor Sani highlighted Tinubu's facilitation of significant Federal Government projects in Kaduna, notably the planned Kaduna Light Rail project. He described the initiative, which exclusively benefits Kaduna and Lagos states, as a major advancement for urban transportation. The N1 trillion light rail project is slated to commence in two months, with contractors already mobilized. Additionally, the groundbreaking for the Mando-Birnin Gwari Road, linking Kaduna to Birnin Gwari town with over N100 billion in federal funding, is expected within a week.

Tinubu also facilitated major Federal Government projects in Kaduna, including the proposed Kaduna Light Rail project.

Sani attributed the concentration of major projects in Kaduna to the strong support from both state and federal governments. He encouraged residents to show their appreciation by supporting President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in upcoming elections. Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, who also spoke at the event, commended Tinubu's commitment to Kaduna's development through investments in education and infrastructure. Abbas noted Tinubu's efforts to upgrade educational institutions, including converting the Federal College of Education, Zaria, into a Federal University of Education and establishing a Federal University of Applied Sciences in the state. Plans are also underway to upgrade Kaduna Polytechnic into a Federal University of Technology, which would bring the total number of federal universities in the state to five.

The governor said Kaduna and Lagos states were the only beneficiaries of the light rail initiative, describing it as a major boost to urban transportation.

The governor assured residents that the 11 newly flagged-off road projects would be completed and inaugurated within five months, framing them as a testament to the administration's Urban Renewal and Rural Transformation Programme. He emphasized the critical role of roads in connecting communities, boosting trade, improving access to essential services like schools and healthcare, and fostering economic activities. Sani stated that robust infrastructure is key to attracting investment, supporting commerce, and promoting inclusive development. His administration has initiated 150 road projects, covering over 1,355 kilometers across the state, with most already completed, reflecting a commitment to equitable development.
