Tinubu mourns Emir of Ngazargamu passing

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep grief over the death of Alhaji Ahmad Tijjani Ibn Saleh, the Emir of Ngazargamu in Yobe State, who passed away in Cairo, Egypt, after a prolonged illness. The Ngazargamu Emirate Council announced the monarch's death on Tuesday.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu remembered the late emir as a father, mentor, and custodian of tradition. He highlighted the emir's life of service to his people and humanity, stating, "His Royal Highness embodied wisdom, humility, courage and unwavering dedication to his subjects." Tinubu added that the emir's guidance and leadership would remain a source of inspiration for the people of Gazargamu and Yobe State.

The President extended his heartfelt condolences to the Ngazargamu Emirate Council, the extended royal family, and the government and people of Yobe State. He also prayed for fortitude for the family and the entire emirate to bear the loss.

Alhaji Ahmad Tijjani Ibn Saleh's son, Tijjani Bala, who is also the General Manager of the Yobe State Road Maintenance Agency, confirmed his father's death in a statement. He described his father as a traditional ruler whose life was marked by wisdom, humility, courage, and dedication, noting that his fatherly guidance and legacy would continue to inspire them all.
